What will I study?
KEY STAGE 5 - YEARS 12 AND 13
The KS curriculum offers the full suite of BTEC diplomas in Engineering, Computer Science and Applied and Healthcare Sciences*. We offer A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Product Design. Students may study either a BTEC pathway or an A Level pathway or a combination of two e.g. BTEC Engineering with A Level Maths and Physics. Students will also complete industrial placements and benefit from industrial and university seminars and mentoring. As part of the Concorde Partnership, students can also select to study one A level from the partnership offer.
This exciting pathway has been developed in partnership with UBHT NHS. Students will study a combination of Applied Science and Engineering which could lead to a wide range of careers including Audiology, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Engineering, Medical Physics.
There are two vocational options, both are advanced qualifications on a part with A Levels:
These are post-16 students wanting to continue their education through applied learning. They fulfil the entry requirements for a range of higher education courses, either by meeting entry requirements in their own right or being accepted alongside other qualifications at the same level.
These are for post-16 students wishing to specialise in a specific industry or occupation. They quip a student with specialist knowledge and skills, enabling entry to an Apprenticeship or other employment, or progression to a related higher education course.
- A Level pathway: 5 A* - B GCSE including English & Maths
- BTEC Patchway: 5 A* - C GCSE including English and Maths
- Combined A Level and BTEC Pathway: 5 A* - C GCSE including English and Maths with minimum B in chosen A Level subject.
